about Us
In January of 2019 Lauryn Fraction and a group of four high school friends decided to have a "Party With A Purpose". Their purpose was to make 100 sandwiches to donate to the Urban Ministry Operation Sandwich program. From those small beginnings, she realized how simple, impactful and fun service could really be. Thousands of sandwiches later, and with the help of volunteers and friends, she has had a steady impact on the Charlotte area food supply through Urban Ministries' Operation Sandwich program.
With the advent of COVID 19 and the increasing numbers of those in need, "Conquering Hunger " was formed. With "Conquering Hunger" we will continue to make increasingly more donations to soup kitchens but will expand our efforts to increase hunger awareness, impact the plight of children, all while bringing family and community together. We understand that with the help of others, we can make an even larger impact!
In the Charlotte area over 3,000 people go hungry each day. This is a sad, but very preventable issue. Our goal is to significantly impact these numbers. Food is needed to survive, without food people cannot do simple tasks to full potential. With each sandwich we make, we are impacting one person of the 3000. With the help of you we can change these numbers.
